Crawling
01:37
|

Branches reaching out
From their tangled, starving arms
The man with a thousand keys
Seems to have the coolest doors
The over head light
Buzzes in pain
Like an angry insect
Speaking so plain
I started out crawling and I ended up crawling
The cross that he bears
Grayed his hair
Until he said
You know what
Fuck this
I started out crawling and I ended up crawling to you
The cross that he beared
Grayed his hair
Until he said
Fuck this!

Strangers

When the city is asleep
But me I'm riding late
And I see so many lights
Out on the street
And they drive so close to me
And they don't have friendly faces
I'm gonna try to go to sleep
But I know they're out there waiting

Words

Words and things and stuff I said
That I meant to say to you
I just recalled that I forgot
That I once remembered to
But I forgot to say the thing
That I said to you before
The thing that I said before I forgot
What I said that I thought that I’d say more
Were the words that I said that I think
I forgot to say to you before I forgot
Were the words and the things that I said
I’d remember to say to you that I thought
The more that I thought of the words that I think
That I remembered that I meant to have said
Were the words and the things and the stuff I said
That I promise I’ll say before I’m dead
If you’ve followed all of this then you’ve surely earned my respect
And this is all that you get
The words and the things and the stuff that I said
That I haven’t quite said yet

The Worm in the Pavement
03:08
|
|||
The freeborn free-thinker
Absorbs what I speak
The freak, the geek, the anti-antique
The freelance freeloader
The loser at his peak
The meek that I seek
I prey on the weak
The lack luster libertine
I say what I mean
The king of the scene
I’m so sick of the serene
I bleed gasoline
I'm so keen a human being
I've destroyed the machine
The versatile vermin
Take notes on my sermon
I'm the worm in the pavement
Hopelessly squirming
The vehement vigilante
I’ll go when my term ends
If you critique
My fishnet philosophy
I’ll move on and forget you
Cause you're not the boss of me

Glass House

I dreamt about a kid who wasn’t happy
Abandoned by her family
A pariah in her youth
Everybody told her she was crazy
Classified and certified
They knew it was the truth
One day she went swimming in a fountain
Wishing that she knew just who
Was chasing after her who
She fell asleep and dreamt that she was drowning
She had an imaginary heart attack
And her mind fell through
And she woke up in a glass house
Where everything was pristine
So she started throwing stones
Shards of glass were glistening
And she was screaming at the floor
“I don’t want this anymore!
Please just make it go away!
Oh I just want to be okay.”
Monsters started creeping from the shadows
She curled into a ball
And then she held her breath
Closer they approached her, they were growling
She closed her eyes and waited
For her eminent death
Suddenly she thought of something special
A time when everything was bright
When nothing was a threat
The closer they approached her they were howling
She fought them and accepted
Her gruesome death
And she woke up in a glass house
Where all her toys had been destroyed
She decided to restore the order
That had since been unemployed
Once again she begged the floor
“I don’t want this anymore!
Please reset my brain.
I just want to feel insane!”
And now she’s living in a glass house
And nothing feels the same
She’s lost inside her mind
She doesn’t even know her name
But still she’s pleading with the floor
“I can’t take this anymore!
I just want to be like you,
I just want to be see-through!”

He wakes up
A little later every day
Than he did the day before
Always on somebody’s floor
Pick him up
And then he’ll lead us on the way
Then he’ll show us something more
Then he shows us to the door
“Today you’re gonna die” he said (woah oh)
“But it’s gonna be okay” (woah oh)
“No, that’s not a lie” he said (woah oh)
“But we’re better off this way” (woah oh)
“We don’t deserve to die” they said (woah oh)
“But you’ve never let us down” (woah oh)
“Today we say good bye” they said (woah oh)
“To this god forsaken town” (woah oh)
“Today you’re gonna die” he said (woah oh)
“But it’s gonna be okay” (woah oh)
“No, that’s not a lie” he said (woah oh)
“But we’re fucked either way” (woah oh)
“We don’t deserve to die” they said (woah oh)
“But you’ve never let us down” (woah oh)
“Today we say good bye” they said (woah oh)
“To this god forsaken town” (woah oh)

I'm Dying (Acoustic)
02:49
|
|||
Everything you touch turns black
Close the door and don’t look back
I’m trying, I’m trying, I’m trying, I’m trying
To leave
I’m dying, I’m dying, I’m dying, I’m dying
To leave
I had to hold you by the arm
Just to keep you from harm
But you, you slipped away
And now there’s nothing left to say
Some things are better left unsaid
And I can’t hold you by the hand anymore
Some things are better left for dead
And you can’t stop me from walking out the door
Some bridges they stay burned
Some friendships were meant to die
And some were never earned
Everything you touch turns black
Close the door and don’t look back
I’m trying, I’m trying, I’m trying, I’m trying
To leave
I’m dying, I’m dying, I’m dying, I’m dying,
To leave
